3 people died during the Marathon sponsored no less by Detroit Medical Centers. What in reality happened here was that instead of putting Detroit EMS ambulances on the route to cover this event, DMC had 14 physicians on standby...none of them had ANY equipment with them in the even of a cardiac arrest or other medical issue.

Here's what transpired: Detroit's Medic 6 was dispatched to the event for a man in cardiac arrest. A Casino car (DMC Express DEDICATED unit for the 3 casinos.) jumped the call and claimed over the air that they were flagged down...hard to be flagged when you are running code TO the scene and are a distance from it no less.

A physician lip locked a patient while doing CPR. Why? Because he had no BVM on the scene, no AED, no O2, nothing.

A Basic DMC Express unit did CPR on another patient. During the course of 10 minutes of CPR, the personnel on the DMC unit not once connected an AED and when they finally realized that they needed to, could not figure out how to operate it. Our Paramedic on Medic 6 took over patient care and initiated ACLS.

Another DMC Express basic was told by our medical control to give EPI. What did they do? Crack open a WMD pack and stabbed the guy in the leg with an Epi-pen. DUH!!!! What the fuck were THEY thinking???!!!??? You can NOT circulate Epi during CPR when it is injected I.M. by the time it gets even close to the bloodstream in a VS absent patient, it's half life is gone and the drug is ineffective.

Jenny Atas, our retarded MCD did an interview with WDIV in which she blew up at Karen Drew and cited that DMC Express Ambulance service was held to a HIGHER standard in level of care than Detroit EMS. Hmmmm...this is the person that SETS those standards for ALL of our medical control zone?

She also cussed out Karen Drew for doing the story. (Mind you, Jenny thought she was doing an interview giving kudos for handling this even...WRONG LOL!!!) Our union president is reviewing the raw video footage of Jenny spouting off at the mouth. With any luck, she'll be removed as our MCD for her stupidity.
