Precautionary/preparedness actions...
For those under a warning...now is the time to complete preparations
for the protection of life and property. Listen carefully to the
advice of local emergency management officials...especially if you
live in a coastal area. If they urge you to evacuate...heed their
advice. For interests at ports...docks...and marinas...urgently
complete prescribed preparations according to your emergency
operations plan for tropical cyclones. If you live on a
boat...make final preparations for securing your craft before
leaving it. Regarding any coastal waters under a warning...small
craft should remain in port and well secured. Closely monitor noaa
weather radio or other local news outlets for official storm
information. Listen for possible changes to the forecast.

Of course there is no formula for success except perhaps an unconditional acceptance of life and what it brings.
There is no refuge from memory and remorse in this world. The spirits of our foolish deeds haunt us, with or without repentance. "Gilbert Parker"
I will be with you
when you pass through the waters,
and [when you pass] through the rivers,
they will not overwhelm you.
You will not be scorched
when you walk through the fire,
and the flame will not burn you.

So glad Im away from Mobile and the Miss. coast and nice and inland in San Antonio. Though Ill miss the overtime the extra workload wasnt.
After working through a few tropical storms, Katrina, Ivan, special unit to Texas after Ike, heck every storm to affect the central gulf in the last 8 years it's nice to not have to watch the gulf and the tropics as much.

Oh I know we'll get some stuff if one comes this way but it will be lots better than being on the gulf.
Being 140ish miles inland beats being 15miles inland. Im still kinda ready. Got my big generator and 40gals worth of gas cans if needed.
