Crack, heroin, "illy" (what you call "wet"), & PCP.
I'm certain this topic has presented itself here well prior to my joining and is something we are all well acquainted with, but; it seems that from time to time a new and more dangerous type of laced heroin comes out on the street. Here in Southern New Jersey (at least with my agency) we seem to have cycles where Heroin has been laced with things like Fentanyl, etc. Most recently, the drug of choice seems to be what they call "Wet." (Marijuana dipped in Formaldahide.) I am curious what everyone else sees and if this is regional or more widespread. As a former Police Officer in Florida, I know we saw different things from other parts of the country...at least at the time. If we saw lots of Cocaine on the streets, the west coast my see more black tar heroin or LSD as an example.
Today alone we have dealt with several apparant cases of "Narcan deficiency" and it seems they have been exacerbated by soemthing more than just the base drug. What are you guys seeing?

Here we are running into Black Tar Heroin and Meth.
A Jack Booted Thug!!!
+1. We had another hazmat a few weeks ago.. It was a trailer fire and yup, it stemmed from an explosion from a meth lab. It was on the other side of the county from me, but I cover the rural-most portion of the county, and I wouldn't be surprised if we had them in our area.

PREVENT YOUR OWN LODD!!!!
Formaldehyde or Embalming Fluid is a street name for PCP. So it's not dipped in chemicals stolen from the funeral home, it's dipped in PCP. Even the people taking it don't always figure that part out.
I used to live next to a meth dealer. and later lived in a neighborhood filled with meth labs. odd people.

Today’s hollering and screaming traveler-man is brought to you by Delerium™. Remember, when you’re on the Plaza and enraged by the lack of generosity of random passersby, it’s nothing a double-dose of Delerium™ can’t make louder. Ask your imaginary friend if Delerium™ is right for you.
round here its called Sherm, weed dipped or a cigarette. No difference.
We see it all, every drug you can imagine. LSD, PCP, Heroin, Coke, Crack, Weed......... Sheesh. Gotta love califorinia varitey thanks to mexican drug cartels and the NAFTA truck transport of the narcotics....... however, alot of high school kids love the robotrip. Thats almost a few runs every weekend. (tussin od).
I spent about three years with a HAZ-MAT crew cleaning up drug labs for the DEA. A fun fille time with unpredictable chemical reactions, unlabeled chemical containers, and very unpredictable people. Know the indicators of drug, especially meth labs and stay as far away as possible. All kind of explosion and inhalation hazards and hepa filters do no good.
And don't forget that Fresno's entire economy is dependent on Meth and raisins.
Thing that confuses me, is when I was growing up, Meth was Meth, and it wasn't what you'd consider a yuppie/rich/club kinda drug. So now there's this whole "Crystal Meth" thing, and I don't know what the difference is, but it seems like non-trailer trash people are using it. Any insight, folks?
Also, with PCP, it can be absorbed through the skin, so if god forbid one of the LEOs has contact with it, they need to be disarmed immediately.

In the 80's, one of the first Designer Drugs, "China White" was made as a heroin substitute, but allegedly far more deadly. Ironically, the OD victims were tested for the obvious candidates, but no luck. It took them time to figure out what was going on.
I am the red-headed bastard step child of the public safety and health care communities but I am the one person you will need most in this world when your life hangs by a thread.
We had the same problem with laced heroin, a Very short problem. A county just south of us had alot of people die with the needles in there arms. They do something that gets the medication out of the transdermal patchs. I have had teenagers chew the patchs, they steel it from grandma. Meth Labs are a big thing here too.
Wait what did I push?
