Hydroxyzine
Class:
Antihistamine.
Actions:
Antiemetic, antihistamine, antianxiety, potentiates analgesic effects of
narcotics and related agents.
Indications:
To potentiate the effects of narcotics and synthetic narcotics, nausea and
vomiting, anxiety reactions.
Contraindications:
Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to the drug.
Precautions:
Orthostatic hypotension, analgesic dosages should be reduced when used with
Hydroxyzine, urinary retention.
Side Effects:
Drowsiness.
Dosage:
50-100 mg.
Routes:
Deep IM.
Pediatric Dosage:
1 mg/kg.
