Default TROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR its that time of year

Tropical depression four local statement
national weather service tallahassee fl
854 am edt sun aug 16 2009

...depression moving north-northwestward...heading for the
northern gulf coast of florida...

.areas affected...
This local statement provides important information and
recommended actions for people and marine interests in select
locations across north florida and the adjacent coastal areas.

.watches/warnings...
A tropical storm warning continues from the suwannee river
entrance westward to the alabama florida border.

A tropical storm wind warning remains in effect for inland areas
of the eastern florida panhandle as well as for liberty county in
the western florida big bend.

A flood watch is in effect for the eastern florida panhandle and
the florida big bend from jefferson county westward.

.storm information...
At 8 am edt...or 7 am cdt...the center of tropical depression
four was located near latitude 28.1 north...longitude 84.1 west...
Or about 125 miles south-southeast of apalachicola florida...or
about 170 miles southeast of panama city fl. Storm motion was
north-northwest or 330 degrees at 16 mph. Storm intensity was 35
mph. Additional strengthening is likely and tropical depression
four may become a tropical storm later this morning.

.situation overview...
Tropical depression four developed early this morning and will
continue to move northwest around the southwestern edge of a ridge
of high pressure across the southern united states. When making
decisions...do not focus on the exact forecast track. Tropical
depression four has a large band of rain that extends east of the
center that will affect a large area across north florida.
Therefore...even though the center may track west of your
location...you may still experience tropical storm conditions.

.precautionary/preparedness actions...
Precautionary/preparedness actions...

For those under a warning...now is the time to complete preparations
for the protection of life and property. Listen carefully to the
advice of local emergency management officials...especially if you
live in a coastal area. If they urge you to evacuate...heed their
advice. For interests at ports...docks...and marinas...urgently
complete prescribed preparations according to your emergency
operations plan for tropical cyclones. If you live on a
boat...make final preparations for securing your craft before
leaving it. Regarding any coastal waters under a warning...small
craft should remain in port and well secured. Closely monitor noaa
weather radio or other local news outlets for official storm
information. Listen for possible changes to the forecast.

Here we go...

I have this deep feeling that I will be let go as a full incharge paramedic just in time to work a natural disaster.. Or better yet, I will become an incharge BECAUSE of one..

So glad Im away from Mobile and the Miss. coast and nice and inland in San Antonio. Though Ill miss the overtime the extra workload wasnt.

After working through a few tropical storms, Katrina, Ivan, special unit to Texas after Ike, heck every storm to affect the central gulf in the last 8 years it's nice to not have to watch the gulf and the tropics as much.

Last couple of good blows we have had to deal with way up here in East Texas... You cant tell me that San Antonio aint gonna get something out of the next one... Wont be quite like living on the Gulf, but youre gonna get some crap none the less.

Oh I know we'll get some stuff if one comes this way but it will be lots better than being on the gulf.

Being 140ish miles inland beats being 15miles inland. Im still kinda ready. Got my big generator and 40gals worth of gas cans if needed.
