In the introductions section. Quickly, before the snipers come back from dinner.

Too late!
*Pop* into both tib-fibs. Sniped by the Lehigh Valley/Slate Belt/Pocono Mountain representative. Now limp on over to the liquor shop. I demand a keg of Guinness and a barrel of Tullamore Dew.

CPAP is optional ( very optional ) here on ALS trucks . My company has 1 . It has been used twice I think . Both times the outcome was good and it performed it's task without fail . I am sure other companies here use it on a regular basis , but it is an ALS skill . Mostly because you are using positive pressure to force fluid back across the membranes , and need to be able to do something if it fails .

You still need to have ALS enroute don't you mediccj? That is what I was told when we did the protocol rollout at NWEMS. Of course, my employer is looking to do it for the BLS trucks we run in the coal region, not naming the service since I could catch you know what.

I'd hope you guys would need at least an ALS intercept if someone was available. We have CPAP here--I love it, but I can't say anything for BLS CPAP because we're an all ALS system.

Not to be a smart ass but BLS protocol 421 says everything you need to know about the rules of CPAP for BLS just not how to use it
For anyone wanting to read the protocols for PA you can go to the PA dept of Health website or ehsf.org and you will find all 300+ pages of the latest (effective 11/1/08). They make excellent bathroom reading and are real snoozers.
