Default Better chance of Survival?

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/5422068.html

This article in Thursday's paper shows a study that if you have a heart attack in an airport or casino that you stand a better chance of survival than if you have a heart attack in the hospital!!

Well, seeing some of the hospitals of late, and the quality of nurses in some of them, its not suprising.

It's sad when the ER staff asks you to start a line on a patient, or tube a patient b/c they dont have anyone there who has done one in a long time, or the patient is a tough stick and they have already missed the stick about 4 times.

lol I'm not saying all nurses, just some. I have worked with many many excellent nurses with alot of experiance and knowledge when it comes to emergency medicine.

Also there seems to be a growing trend to hire LPNs over RNs in some of the areas I've worked.
