Dramamine
Class:
Antihistamine.
Actions:
Blocks histamine receptors, antiemetic.
Indications:
Nausea and vomiting, motion sickness, to potentiate the effects of analgesics.
Contraindications:
Comatose states, patients who have received large amounts of depressants
(including alcohol).
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with seizure disorders, asthma.
Side Effects:
May impair mental and physical ability, drowsiness, bronchial secretions.
Dosage:
25-50 mg slow IVP (over 2 minutes)
50 - 100 mg IM.
Routes:
IV, IM.
Pediatric Dosage:
Not recommended.
