Say Hi to Jax

Well, just over a month ago we welcomed Jax to the family. After laying Jake to rest and spending some time getting over his loss my wife prodded me into the search for a new "enforcer" for those times when I'm gone for 48-72 hour shifts. After doing some research we decided on an Akita and became the new "forever parents" for a 2 year old, 100 lb, long haired rescue Akita named Jax. In short, Jax is a puppy in a very large and strong body. He has a great temperment . . . unless you're a stranger and he suspects you're up to no good . . . and is generally just a big, funny goof.

I took these pics yesterday in my back yard in front of the stable. If you look carefully you can see our horses Rosco and Wrigley in the background.

He's settling in nicely at his new digs and has even had a chance to scare the crap out of the cable guy when he came in to use our bathroom.
