The NREMT that I took was very senerio questions type. That being said the same hold true of NREMT and does any state test.
1. Read the question
2. Read ALL the available answers
3. Read the question again.
4. Pick your answer
DO NOT read into the question... Let me repeat that DO NOT read into the question.
Know you state protocol.

An instructor I once had suggested the following:
1. READ the question. Thoroughly. And then read it again.
2. READ the possible answers.
3. Usually, you'll find that 2 of the answers are obviously wrong.
4. Look at the remaining 2 answers, and choose the one that is the BEST answer, even though it may not be what you might think as 100% correct.
The NREMT tests are designed to test how well you think, and how well you can mentally navigate your way through a given scenario.
If you see a question that has "Open the airway" as an option, choose it. More than likely, that's the correct answer.
Don't over-think the scenarios.

I have all my students subscribe and it's what gets me through NR every 2 years so I don't have to sit for a refresher.
2 tests a day for the 2 weeks prior to testing.
IT WORKS!
:-)
thanks all I will try these ..

If you go to www.nremt.org you can print out the skills sheets used for testing. They list everything you have to do step by step and what the critical fail points are.

Memorize the skill sheets. Point for point. You can not hit a critical failure once and still fail the station, if you don't get at least 80% of the points, I think.
Know them forwards and backwards and upside down...
